As a patent attorney, I’ve got to clear this up — if Eco-Lamps is selling in the U.S. they can be just as liable as any American company, regardless of where their product is made. A primary purpose of the patent system is promoting U.S. innovation and rewarding inventors so the U.S. stays at the forefront of technology — so creating laws that universally promoted foreign manufacture of products would be in clear conflict with the foundation of the patent system.
