For the vast majority of us we wouldn’t give this skimmer a chance, after all it is made by Marineland a company that doesn’t produce many saltwater products despite having “marine” in their name. This skimmer was  purchased after the customer was talked into buying the skimmer via their local fish store. We might need to talk to him about going elsewhere to shop but before you do, take a good look at the video he shot. Bubble quality is good and the amount of skimate he is receiving is a nice indication that the skimmer is doing its job. Is the skimmer as nice as a high end skimmer? No. But it does give newer reef aquarists a better option than the prizm and sea clone skimmers that they would pick up upon hearing the need of running a protein skimmer, and that is the bit that gets us excited.
