Fluval G series filter gets its own mini site

fluval-G-teaser

Hagen decided to launch a complete mini-site devoted to their new Fluval G series filter of sorts. This is a bold move considering the industry is relatively small.  Since we first mentioned the murmurs of the Fluval G, we still have no idea what this new filter might bring, but industry sources seem to indicate that a programmable wet-dry/refugium sump system may be in the works. Those are only rumors sadly and we have nothing tangible to go by. However, the silhouettes in the image above appear to be sporting the glow from a display backlight, perhaps because they will be sporting a display and all the programmable features which might be made available with such a display.  See you in October shall we?

Update: The Fluval G series filters has been released and you can read more about the G3 and G6 pricing on our Fluval G post.

Some sort of power filter / sump / refugium combo for those of us with sumpless tanks would be awesome! I’ve had a Fluval 404 running 24/7 on a turtle tank for almost four years now without a problem, I’d love to see something like that for my reef.

From what I hear this filter will be for the higher end Fish Hobbyist, The Geeks of this hobby.. unlike the 305/405′s etc that come with standard aquarium kits. As for that glowing blue light I was told it will be the display for the temperature like Fluval E series heaters.. I was also told it might have a variation of the e series heater implemented into it as well as some sort of ammonia/nitrite/nitrate reader but that seems a bit far fetched. Overall this filter will probably be the start of next gen filters.. I’m not sure if it’ll be a good thing or a bad thing.. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see…
