Frontier-Full-Shot-Fluval

Industry stallwart Hagen has been rather quiet the last couple of years but with the release of the Fluval Edge, the Fluval G and now the Fluval Pioneer, the company is making a huge comeback with a strong emphasis on styling, design and producing otherwise droolworty products. The Pioneer Series aquarium is a complete 90 gallon set up which currently is geared towards the freshwater aquarium market with intake and return holes drilled right into the bottom to accomodate the included canister filter. You may have noticed that there are no doors on the front of the gorgeous stand but a small side door allows access to the included canister filter. We can already picture some of you neysaying that this tank could never hold marines but we can remember a time when marine aquariums were set up much worse than this. Furthermore, with the coming release of the Fluval G there is no telling what new things the G could do and at least one of our sources described the new canister as “over the top”.  Follow the break for another shot of the set up and a rundown of all the other accessories which are included for the MSRP of $1795.

  • Fluval 405 External Canister Filter
  • Fluval M-Series Heater, 300W
  • Nutrafin Cycle Water Supplement (250 mL – 8.4 fl oz)
  • AquaPlus Water Conditioner (250 mL – 8.4 fl oz)
  • Nutrafin Max Tropical Fish Flakes, 2.7 oz
  • Two Glo T5 HO 48″ Lighting System
  • Two Glo Life-Glo 48″ Flourescent T5 Bulb
  • Two Glo Power-Glo 48″ Fluorescent T5 BulbFrontier-Pump-Shot-Fluval

the stand/canopy looks okay from afar, but closer inspection reveals a lack of finish. it needs a coat of sealant/laquer, and lose the ready-to-rust metal trim. also when you prop the lid open it is supported only by two little dowel ends that feel ready to snap right off. that being said, I do like the doorless front, looks pretty clean.
