Water Flow in Aquariums: Jake Adams at MACNA
4 Leave a comment
Reef Builders own Jake Adams gives a presentation on water flow in aquariums. He states that the key to good water flow is moving water in one direction such as a circle. After that he continues and says if you make it variable with more then 1 pump on your tank so that you can “change directions every so many minutes” that is ideal.

will there be any MACNA presentation DVD’s for sale? Because I would definitely love to buy some, i just couldn’t make it this year

Would be interested in a DVD as well. I attended MACNA this past weekend but with so many interesting vendors and eye candy, I missed many of the speakers and demos (even with a 3 day full pass)

I’ve always been told that random flow patterns were best, as they would be more likely to disrupt detritus. Wouldn’t a circular flow just create areas of settle debris?
