Nano Customs new Pico LED light fixture

Nano Customs is here at Reef stock with something new that we haven’t seen before. A complete Pico LED unit that has the fit and finish of  an advanced LED unit such as Elos or other top premium brands. We managed to take pictures of their prototype unit that is being finalized with 12 LEDs. At launch you’ll be able to choose from either 12k or a 20k color temperature. Interestingly, Nano Customs went the extra mile and included a built in fan that pushes air flow from the top and out the sides, thus eliminating any salt creep worries that you might have. The unit takes up less than 15 watts and here is the kicker: It’s being priced at around $300 or less.

Update: Nano Customs is coming out with two models. Both featuring 12 LEDs. One fixture will include 1 watt LEDs and the other will be upgraded to 3 watt LEDs which are perfect for light demanding corals like SPS for example.

  2. $300 bucks for 4 LED’s? Nice business model.

  3. Ryan – not sure if you read the article fully, but it’s more than 4 LEDs. Sounds like a good price point – in line with the par 38 lamp that NC makes. I’m looking forward to its release!

  5. Just to clarify, the production names will be the 12.1 Pico Fixture for the 1W version and the 12.3 Pixo Fixture for the 3W version. Hopefully these will be hitting the site in a few weeks.

  6. I would like to try this on a pico tank with stony corals! Looking forward to this light.

  7. Nope, didn’t read the blog, I looked directly at the picture and made the assumption. I feel much better about Nano Customs!

  8. Dang. 12 3w LEDs? Nano Customs is pushing out the goodies, hard.

  9. I saw these in action there, one of my favorite items in the whole show. I would have bought one right then and there if they would have been available for sale.

  10. Glad you liked it pickle. We should be putting these up for sale in about a month or two. We are really trying to get aggressive with the price and bring it in even lower than the $300 that was originally posted. We have to make sure that we build it as efficiently as possible without sacrificing anything to get it low.

  11. For a cost effective alternative, try AZOO Neo LED fixture.

  12. many of us with the picotopes have an ac70 filter box attached to the backside of the tank.

looks like these wont be able to mount with those on?

  13. There is a side mount option as well. Don’t worry, I think about these things ;)
