Vertex Aquaristik Libra Dosing Pump system coming in November

By on Sep 07, 2010

Vertex Aquaristik is scheduled to release the Vertex Libra Dosing Pump system come this November. The Libra Dosers will be available in three models “Libra”, Libra Classic, and Libra Pro. The models start out like any old dosing pump called the Libra, however the Libra Pro is where it really pops with a 3.3″ Touch LCD. The dosers use stepper motors, and although we would have liked to have seen servo motors which are more efficient and quieter the stepper motors on the Libra pumps will get the job done. They will dose a minimum of .05ml per minute all the way up to a maximum of 10ml per minute. You’ll have the option to include larger motors that will peak out at 750ml per minute for large demands in bigger aquariums. The Pro Libra model is shown above, while the standard model can be seen below the break. We’ll have pricing information for you shortly, but we have confirmed that these units will include a two year warranty.

    Hi Ryan
Servo motors are much higher in price, Stepper motors are much more accurate than what is available in the hobby now (Bursh DC).
We have been testing these motors for the past 15 months, they are silent. Also the body being made out of Aluminum reduces the noise even further.
We have not been given a solid price point yet, however from what I have seen Libra will be within the same price range as what is currently available on the market now.
Libra Pro and Classic will be simillar in price as the other German makes without the Touch screen LCD.
    Regards
    Ryamond

750mL a minute for larger tanks? Like how large? 200,000 gallons large? because that is an insane amount of water movement for a dosing pump.
