Vortech MP60 flow gets boosted to 7,500 GPH

The upcoming Votech MP60 pump from EcoTech Marine just got more power. The Vortech MP60w ES we brought you earlier this month is going to be pushing out 7,500 GPH when it finally hits the shelves later this winter. Originally rated at 5,500 GPH, EcoTech Marine just announced through its continued engineering and development, they were able to squeeze out another 2,000 GPH from this pump adding more bang for the buck. The pump is still expected to retail for the originally quoted price of $695. The MP60 is designed for tanks from 120 to over 1,000 gallons. The company also noted that retailers are already taking pre-orders and are filling out fast.

    Nothing listed on EcoTech’s website about this. Just the MACNA announcement that unceremoniously states 7500 gph in the product description.

    Regardless whether it’s “fact” or “rumor”, it’s hard to imagine the crack team at EcoTech would have left that 2000 gph (almost a +40% max. output!) on the lab table in the first place….up until just after the product announcement. ;)

    To me this smells more like marketing’s than engineering’s work.
