Slimline LED from Sunbrite first handson pictures with this eye-catching reef light

The Slimline LED reef light was an unexpected and very pleasant surprise from Sunbrite LED. The Slimline is quite a looker on the right tank, especially the trimless kind up to the 24″ cube neighborhood. The bracing bracket on the arm of the Slimline should still accommodate the plastic trim of mass produced glass tanks.

The Slimline LED is also quite affordable, only $249 for 30 watts of half blue, half white Cree LED and enough adjustability using the provided remote control to cycle through ratios and intensity of each LED color channel. We’ve got the Slimline perched on the edge of an Ecomini 28 gallon from where it truly shine (all pun intended). We’ve got a whole slew of images of the sexy Slimline LED and we’ll follow up with full tank shots when the room isn’t so bright and glaring.

    90w is 30 3w LEDs.
That I believe would work okay for most SPS.
I just DIY’d a LED light for my JBJ picotope tank and it is sweet.
    I used rapidled.com for all my supplies. I used 6 XP-E Royal Blue and 3 XR-E Q5 cool white.
I run them, with the MeanWell ELN-48-60D and the dimming kit from rapidled.com
I absolutely love this light, zoanthids colors are stunning, Actually all colors are phenomenal.
I have multiple SPS ranging from rainbow monti, meteor shower monti, a couple acros, ect.
I also have 2 chalices, and 1 acan packed into this 3g tank.
Back to the Lights, I put the 8 LEDs i am running (5 Royal Blue, 3 Cool White, 12k colorish)
over my 95g 24″ deep tank and these lights penetrated all the way to the sand bed with an amazing amount of light.

We just listed these on Aquarium Specialty last week. Nice timing Jake. Here’s a link. We are ordering some of these for stock and I will break out the PAR meter once they get here :-) .

Uh, is the mounting bracket annodized aluminum? And it can be submerged in SW??

30w for $250 seems to be on par with AI’s 72w for $630, except for the fact that AI’s fixture comes with a more advanced controller and upgradability.

Looks like a really svelt pico light though (seem undersized for that nano, and the remote (although ugly) is a nice touch. I’d like to see one of these fixtures in a 90w version for 24″ cube tanks.

Looking forward to Scott’s PAR numbers…
