The HydroLED from Lucenova is one sleek and curvaceous LED fixture

4

The HydroLED is a curvy new LED reef light from Lucenova. Lucenova is a relatively new Italian lighting company that mostly focuses on the  architectural side of LEDs. Quite simply the HydroLED are some extremely attractive light fixtures and the strong and subtle curves of the fixture are reminiscent of the MacBook Air. The fixture does appear to be have a minimum of heat sinking which might be a concern in the long run and there does not appear to be active cooling either, although there might be some form of tricky cooling hidden in the middle of the curve that is just not visible in the pictures.

Details on the HydroLED are very slim but the LED’s appear to be 50/50 white and blue, and the HydroLED fixtures are available in a 100w and 150w version.  It also appears that the 150w version has a third mounting leg for added stability. We’re not sure if these fixtures are also available without the mounting legs and with a hanging kit since legs do not appear to be easily removable and since the power cords exits from the bottom, but it would be very neat if they were. No word on dimensions or retail price yet but there’s a lot more pics below.

No mention of LEDs used, control options.

Mounting legs in my experience are never good for LED with any form of good power rating as the shimmer can be strobe like if too close to the water, it is worthy having a hanging option for universal mounting options.

    wow factor for looks though!

That’s a very good looking light.  I haven’t seen it in person, but it is definitely battling it out with Vitrea for the nicest looking LED light in my opinion.  I wish there was more info about the actual LED’s, but it sure looks good.

It would look alright without those mounting legs, wow those things seriously kill the streamline factor.
