Kessil Lighting has been busy lately getting its unique LED lighting deeper into the aquarium market and just announced signing VASCA Aquarium Supply as the company’s first aquarium wholesaler to carry the Kessil line. The Arizona-based aquarium supply distributor will be the first to carry Kessil’s full line of aquarium lighting products and accessories, including the full spectrum of A150W LED lights.

The Kessil A150W is a nifty LED pendant carrying a lot of value with a great deal of performance at an affordable entry point. Kessil is also one of the only aquarium LED manufacturer using a propriety multichip called a dense matrix array LED in the fixture. We look forward to new products in the future and more availability across the country. For more details on carrying Kessil products, contact your VASCA representative. Kessil announces VASCA as first U.S. aquarium wholesale distributor

Richmond, CA, Aug. 8, 2011 – Kessil Lighting, a business unit of DiCon Lighting, is proud to announce its first aquarium wholesale distributor in the United States – VASCA Aquarium Supply. Based in Arizona, VASCA Aquarium Supply is a distributor of over 3,000 aquarium products from 65+ manufacturers. It will be the first to carry Kessil’s full line of aquarium lighting products and accessories, including the full spectrum of A150W lights.

“Kessil is honored to partner with VASCA to distribute our products nationwide,” said Brian Chiang, Managing Director of Sales and Marketing. “Although we’ve received a number of requests for representation, VASCA’s team is superb and is as enthusiastic about our LED lights as we are. We are excited to grow our business together.”

Powered by Dense Matrix LED technology, Kessil creates high intensity, spectrum-specific lighting that is designed to help coral growth and create an iridescent shimmering effect that brings out the beauty of water and the vivid colors of coral. This looks very promising. and more affordable than the Ecoxotic Cannon, which is 550$.

I still can’t understand why I would pay 550 for one big led. A 50w led chip is worth something like 80 – 100 $, max!!

is there 450 $ worth of heath sink in those?
    Am I missing something?

From the prices the Kessil plant grow lights command, I’m guessing these will be much more accessible to the average reefer than ecoxotic’s cannon

Saw these in person,  great little fixtures, emphasis on little!  Also the price point they set them at was very reasonable.   Hope everyone down the line doesn’t try to dip their hand in the pocket and turn it into something that costs similar to the Photon Cannon

$100 for the chip,  driver adds to the cost, the heat sink, R&D, production costs, companies tend to like to make a little profit on sales rather than sell at cost, etc.

Can’t go down that road again, yeah you can make an LED fixture cheaper, and POSSIBLY look the same, but time is money, and the time that it takes you to make it, you typically don’t take into account as part of the costs
