Riusuke Fukahori paints amazing three-dimensional fish paintings

By on Jan 10, 2012

If you think that the above picture is one of actual fish you’d be wrong, rather than water the container is filled with resin and rather than being filled with actual fish these fish are painted. Riusuke Fukahori, a Japanese artist, paints these three-dimensional fish in resin creating this extremely amazing and quite mind boggling art works.

Fortunately no actual fish are harmed in the process and the fish are rather created by painting upon layer of layer of clear resin, which we can imagine is quite a tedious process. Keep reading for additional pictures. There is also a beautiful video to go along with it, but it appears that the video will be removed due to copyright issues, but we will keep it up until it is.

Even more pictures can be found on Riusuke Fukahori’s flickr stream, and be sure to check out his website.

    WOW!!!  Absolutely Incredible!!!

It’s hard not to admire such incredible artistic ability.  I just hope he tries to paint some beautiful wrasses and other marine fish.  Either way, it’s pretty amazing.
