New commercial and residential versions of Solar Genesis I plasma lights

By on Apr 24, 2012

Chameleon Grow Systems has some of the nicest plasma lights around for horticulture and aquarium use and now it’s adding two more models to the mix. Joining the lineup will be the Commercial greenhouse version fo the Solar Genesis I, pictured above with a barebones set up which is fine for growing veggies. Additionally, a residential version of the Solar Genesis I pictured below is a little bit easier on the eyes, with a wider reflector angle and large vent flanges to circulate unwanted heat.  The Residential Solar Genesis I is available for order now for $1395 and the Commercial Greenhouse Solar Genesis I will be available in the fall, pre-ordering now for $1195. Have they fixed the yellow coloration when the lights are cranked up?

Is the only reason these things haven’t caught on the spectrum?

$1400 for a single light is hard to swallow too.   Even high end LED systems (Looking at you EcoTech) don’t even scratch the surface as far as price.

probably does work great for growing “veggies.”  wink, wink.  Do these come with the dimmer functionality like the Seashine?

It’s the same Luxim core as the Seashine, so its capable. Not sure if its hooked up or not.

Up to now, Luxim hasn’t been very willing to do custom bulbs, so its the same as the Seashine. These systems were designed for general lighting applications and therefore don’t have an appropriate spectra for horticulture or aquariums.
