The Bennette’s Toby is a great and nifty little bobbit worm hunter
By Tea Yi Kai on Apr 30, 2012
Puffers, tobies and triggerfishes are well known for their intelligence and invertebrate hunting skills. This video shows a trio of Canthigester bennetti ganging up on what seems to be a bobbit worm. Like a hovering pack of wolves in slow mo, these cute little tobies seem to enjoy their worm and even managed to attract the attention of curious onlookers like the pair of Percula clowns.
We’re not sure weather or not the tobies actually hunted the worm down and dug it out of its burrow, but we are certain of one thing – That it would totally suck to be a bobbit worm facing down the business end of a puffer’s beak. Thanks to Henry of MarineLife, we got to see some cool worm busting action!
