Ecoxotic just announced availability of their Panorama Fixture Housing for their US market. The aluminum housings come in both 18? and 24? varieties which allow you to mount Ecoxotic’s Panorama Pro Modules in a configuration of your choosing in the bare bones housing. The 18” housing fixture fits up to seven Panorama Pro Modules or Stunner Strips and nine on the 24” giving you a wide degree of options. Pricing for the United States works out to $149 for the 24” version and $139 for the 18” version and these have already started shipping direct from Ecoxotic.

Since these weren’t released until late December and early January, they have only been on the market for 6 months at the most.

    Just fuxing saying….:D

Remind me again, what material are these made from? Did you say aluminum? Oh so Ecoxotic is making what, 90% profit of this new marketing scheme?

    damn, i missed them, obviously…
i know its a rip, but looks so much better than the crappy wooden canopy i made to accomodate them.

The housings were just barely released but the fixture itself is less than 7 months old. You said you were bugging them for over a year. I was simply stating that these fixtures haven’t even been out that long.

I love that they released these separately for those who already have all the units and just need the case to make everything look that much better.

I was lucky enough to see these housings on my vacation to San Diego this last weekend and they can be used for just about anything LED in this hobby. If people didn’t want the Stunner strips of PRO modules, you could easily retro in a heatsink and build your own setup if wanted.

Do you have any idea what these cost? I mean, really?

Let’s break this down for a second. These are all built right here in the USA. Ecoxotic is a small company that maybe orders 1-200 at a time so they aren’t getting any bulk discounts.

You are then paying someone to form these and trust me these are just a stamped piece of aluminum. They have to be semi-assembled still from the different parts that are made. They are also COMPLETELY custom done. They aren’t a pre-made item made to work for Ecoxotic.

The company then has to anodize them black and make them flawless. Any rejects have to be discarded and run up the price. Then they are shipped over to Ecoxotic. Every process costs money. The company making them has to pay bills as well.

So I ask again, do you have any idea what you speak of? Have you seen these housings? Have you priced everything out yourself and even asked a company to build one for you?

I once asked a metal shop to build me a housing for a T5 fixture I wanted to build. They wanted a 50 piece order at a minimum and each housing was going to run about $125 after labor and everything. Were they gouging me? I doubt it because I called more than one place and even talked to my fabricating buddy. He said it sounded about right.

So, if Ecoxotic is getting these for $10 each then all the power to them! They found a great shop that doesn’t care to stay in business.
