Leonardo’s Apogon Reef is online and looking fine

By on Jun 18, 2012

Leonardo’s Apogon Reef is the long awaited sequel coral aquarium from Dutch reef aquarist Leo Den Breejen. Ever since the infamous Formosa Forest aquarium we’ve been chomping at the bit to learn what Leo would do next. Leonardo’s been working on Apogon Reef for well over a year since he first shared some info on how he wanted the specially built aquarium. The new pictures of Apogon Reef show a masterful aquascape with a beautiful slope of Acropora colonies which will hopefully grow into a beautiful SPS slope.

The large boulder Faviid rain coral looks a little out of place in this scenery, there must be some reason for its placement (which totally works)Sure enough, that same bowling ball of a coral is visible in shots of Apogon Reef’s predecessor. We’ve warmed up to Leo’s use of the balling method and that wonderful bare-bottom brings tears of joy to our eyes. Check out some more of this well-conceived coral dominated aquarium on Leonardo’s Reef.

try to look a little look closer, there’s more than you think. I didn’t see them at first either and thought the same thing about the name. Then I was like, “oh, there’s one… and another… and there’s another………

Glass bottom? Really? Ugh… Not sure how people can like that. Sure it’s easier to clean but it looks so antiseptic.

Glass bottoms are are throw back to 1969..Not very attractive or required with to days filter systems
I guess i’m missing something what makes this tank so different
