LiveAquaria sells $5000 narcosis angelfish almost immediately

By on Oct 18, 2012

In case you were wondering where Quality Marine’s first Americanized narcosis angelfish went to, LiveAquaria has been keeping and conditioning this fish for the last several months. After thoroughly documenting the Centropyge narcosis and thoughtfully acclimating it to aquarium life, today LiveAquaria saw fit to release their black-and-yellow treasure on the Diver’s Den. Say what you want about the U.S. economy but that $5000 price was happily snapped up by one very dedicated collector. If five grand for the price of entry into the uber rare fish owner’s club is too rich for your blood, you still have a chance to get one of its congeners the Shepard’s angelfish for a fraction of the price.

5000 is lower than I was expecting for this fish!

Agreed, since peppermints go for much more I figured this would as well!

I asked around a few years back to some wholesalers, and it seems wholesale pricing on a Peppermint would be close to 5K. For obvious reasons, no one could give me a firm price.
