Enjoy this tank full of crazy rare reef fish

By on Feb 08, 2013

This incredible reef aquarium maintained by Blue Harbor Japan is chock full of the world’s crazy rare reef fish, plenty enough to buy a luxury car with. Populated by one of a kind piscine critters this aquarium is home to such illustrious members including the orange fin butterflyfish, Prognathodes basabei, French butterflyfish, Prognathodes guyanensis, a debelius angelfish, a flathead perch, fuscipinnis and hawaiian longfin anthias.

Possibly the most recognizable resident of this reef aquarium is a one-of-a-kind androgynous personatus angelfish showing both male and female characteristics  with the black and orange colors creating an awesome effect. To the casual observer these may look like just any other reef fish but we can assure you there’s nary any assemblage of aquarium fish anywhere like it in the world, and it is a real treat to see so many coveted species in a single place.

i guess im weird, maybe even lucky that i dont really judge fish by their “value” or rarity, but based on how cool they look and how colorful they are too me. While a one or two of those looked cool, some of them were just blah to me, i am more excited by much more common yet much brighter and colorful fish that you can get at most LFS. I have however seen some AWESOME corals that are are rare that i would like, but i aint spending $500 for a coral that might shrivel up and die in 5 months, no way no how, i would rather by 5 $100 corals that are still beautiful but are known for being more hearty. But i know that not everybody is held to my economic standard, some people have so much money they spend more on their hospital tank than i do on my display ! so to each their own !
