I’m sitting here looking at my handheld pocket TDS meter and then looking at this new product from Lamotte, and I need to be really honest. I want this new Lamotte pocket tester. Having a handheld pocket meter that “just” measures TDS is so 1990’s! The Lamotte pocket tester tests TDS (Total Dissolved solids) however it doesn’t stop there but measures Conductivity, TDS, Salinity, pH, and Temperature with–wait for it– one electrode. We wonder though if it can accurately measure all these levels taking into account bad experiences with measuring salinity with consumer grade probes. For $160 you can try it out for yourself. Don’t think that Lamotte loves us reef builders or anything, this was orginally designed for pools…the kind you swim in.
