Sfiligoi’s new DSE metal halide plus T5 lighting fixture uses a twin lamp and reflector design that should help it push it past normal PAR numbers with minimal power consumption. Sfiligoi reports the test of PAR on the new DSE models returned “almost double the PAR than that of a single 1×400w pendant”. Along with T5’s the new DSE by Sfiligoi include LED moonlights to get your corals and fish in the mood. Pricing is well pricey, but we are talking about Sfiligoi here. There are 3 models to choose from including the 24″, 48″ and 72″. We’re told that North America’s new Distributor will have these up and running as the first DSE are set to arrive very soon.

Sfiligoi has gotten fresh distributorship within the United States. It was previously reported that Quality marine would be the sole distributor here in the United States and although that was true earlier it seems that Sfiligoi had a change of heart. A new company was formed called Aquatics Elite that will be handling all Sfiligoi lighting lines along with parts and accessories for your lighting setup to rock. Their website is newly launched and missing details but expect it to be up in running by the end of the month.

Update 2: Quality Marine has contacted us and said that they never had any plans to pick up the Sfiligoi line.

Sfiligoi has been busy whipping up another new product all the way over in Italy. This new LED line has been named Sirius and is designed to replace your T5 and T8 tubes. Apparently Europe isn’t content that they started the T5 revolution, they decided to take it one step further with LEDs. The Sirius line by Sfiligoi is actually quite interesting, it’s designed in a similar model like a long T5 tube, except there are arrays of GU10 LED’s mounted to the holding device. There are a handful of different options you can go for but they start out at 4 LEDs and go all the way up 16 LEDs. Each LED uses a high power lens to increase the light level shining down on to your tank, while colors come in either Warm White, Cold White, Blue, Red and Green with varrying intensities 1.3, 2.2, 3 (watts). Don’t even ask about price, it will be high.

If you’re trying to pack a lot of light in a small area (we’re looking at you Acro heads), then you’ll want to take a good look at the new Infinity DDE (double double ended) light fixtures from Sfiligoi. The Infinity DDE fixtures are the same size as the old XR6 Inifinity lights but they pack twice the electricity draining halide lamps. The new Infinity fixtures feature double twin HO T5 flanks to supplement the light punch from the halides which themselves are backed up with lumenarc-style reflectors. The entire fixture is made out of stainless steel with internal T5 ballasts but external metal halide ballasts.  Hit the read link for breakdown of the models and an additional picture of the Sfiligoi Infinity DDE which will soon be available from Aquarium Obsessed.
