The PAR38 E26 LED spotlight from Nano Customs may not sound like a very exciting piece of equipment, but this combination of high power blue and white LEDs in a incandescent base spotlight was one of the more original products at this year’s MACNA. The NanoCustoms LED spot draws about 15 watts with about 12-13 watts of that energy going straight to pure LED lighting goodness. The PAR38 LED lamp comes in two color ratios to suit different color preferences; there’s a ’20K’ which uses 3 blues and 2 whites and a ’14K’ which uses two blue and three whites. The lamps that were displayed in Atlantic City were some late development prototypes as NC is still working to refine the operation of this lamp. The release of the NC PAR38 LED spotlight will depend ultimately on the progress of the development but we were told to aim for a shipping date in early winter with an expected price point in the $115-130 range. We hope to see a nice incandescent base fixture for the PAR38 lamp from NanoCustoms as well otherwise, what’s the point?
