When an amateur drone hobbyist in Australia took his remote-controlled aircraft to the skies he didn’t expect to see this. The video shows a pod of false killer whales, a type of dolphin, chasing down a juvenile shark in crystal clear water.
The false killer whales were between 3 and 5 meters long and, are members of the dolphin family. Usually the whales prefer deeper, more tropical waters but Kataoka was flying his drone just off Cronulla beach near Sydney Australia when he spotted the chase.
The vid shows the four whales quickly gaining speed on the small shark then cutting off its escape, right before the biggest whale grabs the entire shark in its jaws.
