A recent trip to Norway presented the opportunity to visit Konstantinos Michalopoulos and enjoy his jam packed Red Sea Reefer 250, which is the feature of today’s video. Such exceptional displays are a bit of a rarity in Norway, and we were thrilled from the moment we laid eyes on it.
On display is everything from Goniopora, to Cocoa Worms and Clams all of which are prime examples of specimens in excellent health. His main challenge is fitting so much into this relatively small tank while ensuring corals are not stinging each other, which Konstantinos admits keeps him quite busy.
Keeping the entire setup neat and tidy not only makes for easier maintenance, it also allows inspection of livestock and equipment to be done at a glance without distraction. Konstantinos is diligent about every aspect of this tank and the results speak for themselves.
It’s not often we come across a display with such a high coral to water ratio, no wonder why Konstantinos is quite proud of the living art he has created within this 250 liter aquarium. An upgrade is planned for a future date which means a lot will be changing so we are pleased we were able to visit when we did, and showcase this fantastic reef in its current state.
Thanks again to Konstantinos for inviting us to his home and sharing this inspiring masterpiece with us.
