The other night, I was filling my RO/DI reservoir for my auto-top-off system. No big deal right? I’ve done this before so nothing to worry about. Unless of course if I forgot to turn the RO/DI valve off. Well yes I did just that and what do you know, I had about 60 gallons of the finest purest water on my upstairs carpet. You see my tank is on the 2nd story, so as I went downstairs yes, you guessed it-it was leaking downstairs! So not only did I have a nice swamp upstairs I had one downstairs as well. Ripping out the carpet was the only option, it was runied, if I didn’t rip it out then mold would have grown and that would have been a nightmare. Looking at the picture you can see my aquarium how it was a few days ago.
Ripping the carpet out wasn’t the big deal, I have to tear down the system and put up a new sump, and stand in its place, then build everything back up. Sounds like a lot of work doesn’t it? Good, cause it is! I am dreading it. Pray for me.
