Digital aquatics will update us on more details about their new ReefKeeper Elite unit come friday. However, here is a recap of what we know. We do know that this unit should be under $600 for their standard package.
What will the RK Elite system ship with?
The ReefKeeper Elite will ship with the following compliment of ReefKeeper Modules/Parts.
1 x Head unit*
1 x SL1 (pH, temp, 2 micro switches, ORP)
2 x PC4**
1 x Temp probe
1x Wiring / Accessory pack
The RK Elite head unit will come with an entirely new type of interface called Cap-Sense, just the first in a long list of new innovative features that will give the ReefKeeper Elite an amazing user experience! This interface is will give us as developers and you and customer freedoms and functionality like no other controller on the market today!
**Like the Power Controllers of the RK1 and RK2, the PC4 for the RKE will change how you look at power and control all together! We’re challenging the way the industry looks at control, form and function with this new product.
To start, the PC4 will have 4 outlets, a built in power-switch/breaker, a rating of 15amps (total) and sports two solid state relays and two conventional mechanical relays. Customers will have the same 15amp limit (total) that they do with our current Power Controller; but now instead of sharing that between 8 outlets you have 4. This will allow you control a more natural setup in your reef system with less worry about overloading, blowing fuses, and general failures. Also, because we’ve lowered the number of outlets per Power Controller, we’re upping the number of Power Controllers you get with this new system so you still start with 8 outlets.
