Ecosystem releases eco system mini, nano aquarium

Ecosystem got into the all in one nano aquarium game by releasing a all in one reef nano unit. The base models come in two sizes, 14 Gallon and 24 Gallon. Metal Halide and T5 lighting options are available, although it looks like the main unit will come without a lighting option and if you opt for the T5 lighting or Metal Halide then you’ll need to lay down a few more dollars. Other options include: Refugium only model, Protein skimmer only model, Hybrid – skimmer/refugium model, UV Filter option (internal). The Metal Halide and T5 lightings systems are made in Italy, most likely an OEM. No word on availability yet, but we guess to say less than 2 months and you should start to see these at your local fish store or online.

Benefits:

The Eco MINI brings nano systems to the high end by allowing hobbyists to keep reef inhabitants with a high degree of success. The MINI has an open infinity top so heat will not be an issue like an enclosed nano system. The MINI also has a fan built into the filter cover to keep a steady flow of air blowing across the water to ensure a proper temperature. The MINI has an optional 7w UV filter that can added into a chamber in the enclosed filter to insure proper fish health from any parasitic infections.

The lighting is provided by either Metal Halide (70w and 150w versions) or economical T5 fixtures. The Metal Halide comes with an adjustable height bar so the lights can be raised after a bulb change to prevent any corals from being burned from the new light intensity.

The refugium models each come with 2 Miracle Mud trays. Once a year you replace 1 tray to maintain the proper level of trace minerals inside the main system. All the models come with a Eco Phos filter cartridge containing phosphate high grade carbon and our own Eco Phos (ferric oxide) media for quick phosphate removal.
