Deltec has been hard at work refreshing their line of nitrate reactors. There are four new models including 509, 512, 616, and the 1020. The 509 is great for tanks up to 50 gallons, while the top of the line 1020 will easily take on a tank that is 1300 gallons. The new features on the reactors are numerous including “ease of cleaning via fully removable lid, large bore exit pipes that will not block, special media that will not choke up with dead bacteria, pressurized operation possible for flexibility of reactor positioning, recirculation system to ensure an even distribution of nitrate and food to the bacteria and these can be operated in manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic mode.” The NFP 509 model is shown above and these can be picked up in the UK for £219.99 ($334) no word if these will make it over to the US, but we wouldn’t at all be surprised if we started to see these trickle into dealers across the country.
