Ultra Algae X has been a runaway success for Fauna Marin, it has been flying off the shelves across the US. However, it seems some aquarists have thought that if they have an algae problem that Ultra Algae X will remove the algae for good. While it will rid you of Algae it will not eliminate the root cause of Algae, so for example if you have phosphates (PO4) then most likely your algae will again grow back. Fauna Marin has pulled the product from the store shelves and has reformulated it to a lower concentrated mix. Also it has been discovered that sulfur reacts to Ultra Algae X and as such “The product has now been weakened to reduce risk of overdose and new instructions will follow to guide people on long term algea control / prevention.” Well there you have it, do you use Ultra Algae X?
