We aren’t sure what to say about the Bubble Magnus line of protein skimmers, they are very cheap and the construction quality isn’t the highest but does the age old adage of “You get what you pay for” apply here? Bubble Magnus has a hang on back skimmer that is very affordable. The skimmer which interestingly is powered by two pumps, a Maxijet 1200 which works as the main foam producer using a needlewheel to do the job and a Maxijet 400 that is used as the water feed pump. The retail for this guy is only $106 which is extremely cheap, however the skimmer is modular and for it to fit in your tank some PVC might have to be cut. Some reef aquarists swear by these skimmers, while others swear at them. We will let you decide for yourself.
