You remember those rumors about the Red Sea Max 250D model? The “D” referring to upgraded internals, faster pumps, better lighting, in other words it would be more drool worthy to any reef hobbyist. After a quiet period with the Red Sea product line, the internet is a buzz about that Red Sea Max 250D model that will hit in 2010 in time for interzoo which most overseas companies use to release new products to the world. That rumor can be taken with a large helping of salt, however after looking at the facts of Red Sea’s past release history it is very probable that we are due for a product refresh. Why do we have confidence saying this? The original max 34 was released way back in September 2006, then a full 2 years later in December 2008 the Max 250 model was released. Come 2010 we are ripe for a new model to capture our attention. Although it might not be that rumored 250D model, Red Sea will have a major new product to announce, our bets are with another addition/upgrade to their popular Max line of aquariums, something that we wouldn’t complain about.
