While the star fire fixture from Fauna Marin has been getting mixed reviews, we have pictures of the device of it in action on top of a impressive tank. Most users love the light, however the biggest complaints that we are seeing is the price, no doubt as there is a premium involved when products are imported from the mother country of Germany. The Fauna Marin fixture has a LED Shimmer (flickering) effect or Moonlight ( controlled over internal Ballast and external control Box) and offers Single high end reflectors for deep light 98 % reflection. German made high end electronic Ballast with Cut off technology for longer life time and higher light output including electronic controllable active cooling for fans and tube. A splash water protection shield. A “comfortable†Y wire stainless steel hanging kit. Full powdercoated heavy aluminum body which allows only one powercord 3 meters long to snake from the unit. Don’t think Fauna Marin didn’t put dimmable options, they did, but only on the dimmable 10tube model. A 39w 8 tube unit will set you back $1,499, while the 54w 10 tube unit will be $1,799. The 80w 8 tube will set you back a cool $2,099. The high end 54w 10 tube GHL plug and play ready which is $2,099 and the only dimmable unit.
