Practical Fish Keeping, the popular magazine and online UK portal website is down. It has been down for a while now, with today going over the 24 hour mark. Going to the site yields a message “Practical Fishkeeping is currently offline for maintenance and should be back up and running shortly.” The site has been down since yesterday. How long is a normal maintenance window? Did the maintenance go bad and now we aren’t able to access the popular freshwater destination? Was there really maintenance or did something bad happen similar to Reef Central when they performed an upgrade? Hopefully they will get this resolved so we can go back to our continued freshwater coverage. All these “upgrade” problems has us leery of upgrading anything ourselves.
Update: After a little digging, Practical Fish keeping has been hacked. It seems that some username/passwords and even credit card data might be exposed and PFK is getting it all sorted out.
Update 2: Wow. They are still down.
Update 3: 12/11/09 Going on 3 days of downtime.
