These Tunze E jets have been out for a while now but we haven’t covered them yet…we thought we might do you the honor. These Tunze E-Jets are centrifugal pumps meaning they use up to 50% less energy consumption of standard aquarium pumps. These pumps are slated to replace all Turbelle® powerhead / electronics built since 1988. While prop style pumps are very popular these pumps serve a different market niche with flow rates ranging from 290 GPH to 739 GPH. The e-jet Tunze 5005 will pump up to 1109 GPH at 40 watts and features a new microprocessor-controlled motor that works great with a Tunze 7095 multicontroller. Interestingly enough Tunze offers a magnet holder that reduces noise by using what looks like silicone in the holder. We have talked about the positive effects of using silicone in your set ups before. Nice to see it be applied to a retail product. Picture below the jump. Retail starts at around $90 for the E-Jets.
Turbelle® e-jet are high-performance centrifugal pumps. They have an impeller with a defined sense of rotation which is used to produce a water jet without any harmful shearing forces and fifty per cent less consumption of energy than conventional aquarium pumps. The innovative synchronous motor with its electronic starting system is based on the latest state of the art in technology and offers very high reliability requiring less servicing and at less current consumption. The extraordinary design, which includes the magnet holder, permits 3D adjustment and an uncomplicated attachment at any point on the aquarium pane.
Without modifications, they replace all Turbelle® powerhead / electronic built since 1988.
Turbelle® e-jet are attached individually to the glass pane as circulation pumps or filters, and for this reason are supplied with magnet holder, strainer, flow deflector and filter cartridge.
Assembled without holder, strainer and flow deflector, they can also be used as built-in pumps when fitted in Comline filters; for this purpose the upper cover of the motor block should be removed.
Dimensions: diam. 90 mm (3.5 in.) excluding magnet holder.
