Recently, A Giesemann distributor in Australia took out an ad in a large national print publication. The ad (pictured above) states that the Helios light is the first hybrid fixture on the market. Or at least that is what Giesemann would have you believe. You know what is great about Reef Builders? Our archives. Thousands of people search them every day. The contain a lot of useful information you can use to research a particular subject matter. Say, for example, like we wanted to know the answer to this question: Is the Giesemann Helios the first hybrid (meaning T5/LED combo) on the market? Let us check. First we have Aqualight’s flash LED lighting system which is T5/LED combo which we covered way back in 2009. We also have the CoralVue branded T5/LED fixture, Arcadia’s OT2 LED/T5 combo and we’ve barely gone to page three. Hmm, that is very interesting isn’t it? Giesemann, we need to have a talk. You aren’t the first. You’re probably like 5th to market. Don’t give in to false advertising. It doesn’t win you any brownie points. And won’t get you any new customers.
