D&D from the United Kingdom is getting into the test kit game. They have released testing kits for Iodine, Nitrate, Phosphate, along with a multi test kit that will handle Calcium, Alkalinity and Magnesium. These new kits will be hitting the fine chaps of England first, eventually spreading out in other markets with no market price set. Interestingly the nitrate test kit has suggestions on how to reduce nitrate in the aquarium by first recommending a water change (that is a given), but then suggesting the use of the D-D Bio Pellet products that have become increasingly popular. We always love a little cross-selling inside the instructions. Now, titration test kits are nice D&D but where are our colorimeters?

D-D Iodine Test Kit
A high quality test kit from D-D to accurately monitor Iodine levels in reef aquaria.
Iodine is considered an essential element for certain biological processes in many marine animals and as such it is paramount to be able to measure and maintain the correct levels in your marine aquarium.
We advise that the Iodine kit is used as part of a complete testing regime that includes the D-D Phosphate, Multi and Nitrate test kits for best results and to help monitor complete aquarium health and nutrient levels.
Iodine is present in seawater in many different forms, with only some being biologically available for our aquarium inhabitants to utilise. Total iodine concentrations in seawater can vary from one location to another and by depth however the average total iodine concentration of natural seawater is measured at 0.06ppm.
Whilst fish can gain their required amounts via the food they eat, corals and other invertebrates take up iodine directly from the surrounding water at different rates from one species to the next with gorgonians, micro and macro algae being primary consumers.
Iodine levels within marine aquaria should be monitored regularly. Although it is provided at natural levels of 0.06ppm in our H2Ocean Pro+ Reef Salt it becomes depleted quickly and must therefore be maintained by regular supplementation.
This high sensitivity iodine test kit will allow the user to simply and accurately measure levels so that they may be maintained by way of water changes or scheduled dosing.
Accuracy of this test is further improved by the use of a ‘standard’ that is created during each test which sets a known comparison point.
D-D Nitrate Test Kit
A high quality test kit from D-D to accurately monitor Nitrate levels in reef aquaria.
Maintaining low levels of nitrate (NO3) and phosphate are crucial for success in marine aquaria with regards to the health of fish and corals and acts as a food for the growth of nuisance algae.
Excessive levels of nitrate give rise to problems controlling algae, maintaining pH, and is a limiting factor in achieving good coloration in corals.
We advise that the Nitrate kit is used as part of a complete testing regime that includes the D-D Phosphate, Multi and Iodine test kits for best results and to help monitor complete aquarium health and nutrient levels.
Natural seawater has an average nitrate concentration of below 0.1ppm with levels below 2ppm being recommended for reef aquariums.
This high sensitivity test kit will allow the user to monitor levels of nitrate measured as NO3, or as total nitrogen N-NO3, within the aquarium so that they may be maintained by way of regular water changes or alternate methods of Nitrate removal or breakdown such as the D-D Bio Pellet products.
The test kit has both a high and a low range scale allowing it to be used to determine the exact level of phosphate in your aquarium.
Specifications
* High Range 0 – 48 ppm NO3
* Low Range 0 – 4 ppm NO3
* The kit includes a reference solution sufficient for 5 tests

D-D Phosphate Test Kit
A high sensitivity test kit from D-D to monitor Phosphate levels in reef aquaria.
Maintaining a low level of phosphate (PO4) is crucial for success in marine aquaria. Excessive levels of phosphate can give rise to increased algae populations, act as a calcification inhibitor in stony corals and clams, and is a limiting factor in achieving good coloration in stony corals.
We advise that the Phosphate Kit is used as part of a complete testing regime that includes the D-D Multi, Nitrate and Iodine test kits for best results and to help monitor complete aquarium health and nutrient levels.
Natural seawater has an average phosphate concentration in surface waters of around 0.005 ppm PO4 with levels below 0.1 ppm PO4 being recommended for aquariums containing stony corals up to perhaps 0.25 ppm PO4 for more tolerant species. Levels below 0.005 are also undesirable however it is unlikely that you ever achieve a zero phosphate state due to the amount of phosphate added during daily feeding.
This high sensitivity test kit will allow the user to monitor levels of phosphate measured as PO4 or P-PO4 within the aquarium so that they may be maintained by way of regular water changes and by way of phosphate removing medias such as Rowaphos.
The test kit has both a high and a low range scale allowing it to be used to determine the exact level of phosphate in your aquarium.
Specifications
* High Range 0 – 5 ppm PO4
* Low Range 0 – 0.82 ppm PO4
* The kit includes a reference solution sufficient for 5 tests

D-D Multi Test Kit
An all in one high quality test kit from D-D to monitor Calcium, Alkalinity and Magnesium in reef aquaria. These three important elements provide calcium and carbonates for Coral growth whilst also providing stable water chemistry when maintained at natural levels.
We advise that the Multi Kit is used as part of a complete testing regime that includes the D-D Phosphate, Nitrate and Iodine test kits for best results and to help monitor complete aquarium health and nutrient levels.
The D-D Multi Test Kit includes liquid tests for the three most commonly tested parameters by marine or reef aquarists, those of calcium, magnesium and alkalinity.
All three parameters have a natural balance relative to each other which should be maintained to provide a healthy environment within your reef aquarium.
This test kit will allow you to monitor the levels of all three parameters that they may be maintained by way of water changes, calcium reactors or scheduled dosing.
We Recommend the use of ‘balanced’ H2Ocean Pro+ salt to help maintain natural levels of these three important ions.
* Calcium
Maintaining the correct calcium (Ca) level is crucial for success in marine aquaria with regard to calcification in stony corals, clams, and some soft corals
Natural seawater has a calcium concentration of between 380-450ppm with an average of 420ppm
* Alkalinity
Maintaining correct alkalinity is crucial for success in marine aquaria as both a factor in calcification in stony corals and clams, and as a buffer to stabilise pH.
Most reef aquariums are recommended to be maintained at 7.0 – 8.4 dKH to allow additional buffering in the system to stabilise the general tendency towards falling pH. Natural seawater has a dkh of around 7.0
* Magnesium
Magnesium is one of the most overlooked elements in the reef aquarium yet maintaining the correct magnesium (Mg) level is crucial for success with regard to calcification in stony corals, coralline algae, clams, and some soft corals.
The correct magnesium level also allows other parameters to be stabilised effectively such as calcium and alkalinity and therefore pH
Natural seawater has a magnesium concentration of approximately 1280ppm however it is recommended that levels within the aquarium should be maintained between 1250 and 1350 depending on the salinity.
