We have confirmed that Red Sea’s Max 500 unit that we first spied at Interzoo won’t be coming until Fall 11. In fact, it might even be delayed up until early 2012 for some countries. Apparently, Red Sea Israel is having a few issues on the unit and with strong pent up demand in Europe, the United States and even possibly the UK would not receive the unit until after 2012. As far as pricing, we have heard numerous rumors in the $3000 range, but we cannot get confirmation. The Max 500 from Red Sea, announced at Interzoo is a 116 gallon aquarium “all in one” kit including a 15 gallon sump with 132 gallon total system volume that has a lot of interest from several reef tank owners. All in one aquarium kits are becoming popular for a “fool proof” way to setup a tank without the need to worry about lighting, pumps, fittings and other technical details that some hobbyists do not enjoy. Hopefully, The Red Sea will “part” soon with this popular new product.
