Next Reef, a popular acrylic manufacturer, decided to announce their new NXS protein skimmer line. Next Reef originally got famous for their fast selling media reactor line and seek to continue that tradition with the NXS. The protein skimmers are made from acrylic and machined in the same high quality types of work you’ve come to expect from Next Reef. The new NXS skimmers will be available in three different sizes NXS1 (rated up to 250 gallons) NXS1 XL (rated up to 400 gallons) and finally the NXS1 XXL (rated for up to 600 gallons). The NXS line uses stock needle wheels located in either PSK 600 or the PSK1000 depending on the size of the model you want. The unique feature of these skimmers is they are extremely easy to take apart and clean, with all of the skimmers we see, getting inside the base can prove to be quite a challenge, this will not be a problem with the NXS1 series.Retail pricing starts at $699 for the NXS1, the XL model will be $899 and finally the XXL $1299.
