Tropic Marin’s NP-Bacto-Pellets is a new filter media for the removal of nitrate and phosphate. It was only a matter of time before Tropic Marin jumped into the NP pellet game. These Bacto Pellets are made from a mixture of natural biopolymers which Tropic Marin says promote the colonization and growth of nitrate and phosphate removing bacteria as well as other microorganisms. The bio mass is then made available as a food source for filter feeders. NP-Bacto Pellets will come in two sizes: 500ml and 100ml. Europe will get first crack of these new pellets while the rest of the world following shortly thereafter.
