“Oh hi there! I’m a little bit nervous to meet you, and I hope you don’t find my accent too thick”. I’m not good with introductions, but i’m planning to say that to my new owner when I meet him or her. I’m Asia, and i’m a Gramma dejongi. You see, we just graduated from our play group not too long ago. My friends knew that i’ll be moving to Netherlands so they planned a huge party for me. We had cake and ice-krill; I love ice-krill but my mom says not to eat too much.
Although i’m little, I can’t wait to grow up and be independent. My mom thinks i’m too young to start travelling the world but I say otherwise. I’m so excited. I landed in Netherlands not too long ago and I had the best time. Did you know, the guy who owns the hotel I stayed in has the same last name as me? How crazy is that!? I mean, what are the odds. I thought I was seeing things so I checked my passbook against his name tag and it was right there. Maybe we are related. Haha but that’s impossible. He’s a human!
My short vacation in Netherlands was a blast. I made so many friends. My new bestie was Link. He’s quiet and shy but he’s sooo funny! You should see how he sleeps. I have never seen anyone sleep like that before. Not to mention the snoring! Here’s a photo of Link I took while he wasn’t looking. Shh, please don’t tell him. He hates getting his picture taken.
Anyway, my stay at Netherlands wasn’t forever. I was flying off to Singapore to meet my new owner soon. You know, i’m quite embarrassed to say this, but I heard I am some sort of celebrity. Apparently humans and other fishes will fight tooth and nail to catch a glimpse of me. They say it was something about my colour. You know it’s ironic. I’ve always wanted more purple. I get so jealous when I see the other kids in my play group with so much more purple. Once, I saw this other fish that looked just like me, but he had purple scales running halfway down this body!
Whatever the case, i’m so excited. I’m flying off in about an hour’s time to Singapore. I heard it’s super tropical and sunny there, just like Cuba! Link is coming along too! We’re going to be besties forever. I really want to try some local cuisine there. I heard chilli krill is good. Oh man I love krill so much. Oh got to get going now, my taxi is here. Until next time.
The above was taken from a note that fell out of the shipping bag. A big thanks to Junkai Ong of Iwarna Aquafarm for handing it to me. Wow that was weird.
