For all but those living under a rock, you would have probably heard through the preverbal grapevine of a new frozen food taking the hobby by storm. LRS Reef Frenzy is currently leading in the frozen food department, and what better time to launch a new product while at the peak of all the hype. LRS has debuted quite recently a new frozen food strainer that you can now use in conjunction with your favourite frosty treat!
While a strainer is nothing new and can be substituted with a net, this new product does help keep things fairly clean and drip free, and saves you the hassle of using glassware meant for human consumption.
If you decide to mix your LRS Reef Frenzy with other varieties of frozen foods such as mysis and brine, then thawing everything together would be a good idea. The strainer separates the food from the nasty liquid portion, allowing you to add various vitamins and additives should you decide upon.
Another useful tip regarding the LRS strainer is that the base doubles up as a chopping board. If you’re using the chunky seafood rich frozen blend for smaller fishes, you may find it useful to mince it into smaller pieces. The base provides a great platform to dice after straining.
Simplicity is key and this acrylic cup and strainer could find use in your aquarium cabinet. The short video above demonstrates effectively the usage of this low tech equipment for hassle free frozen food. Oh by the way, did we forget to mention that LRS is now a wholesale distributor for the entire line of PE Mysis products?
The LRS food strainer is a prototype and the final design and product should be revealed in due time. I know what I want for christmas.
