Ocean, is a new social networking application designed for Scuba Divers to interact with each other. The iOS/Android app allows you to share dive logs with Facebook friends and to see where your other fellow divers have dived throughout the world. The application is a mix of LinkedIN, Facebook and Twiter and if you have used any of those social applications the Ocean application will be familiar territory. The social networking, the first of its kind is the brainchild of Jimmy and Daniel Reuterwall both from Sweeden and both interestingly are brothers.
The new network advertises “let’s you roam the world’s oceans in search for your next adventure” seeking to market to the relatively small audience of connected Scuba Divers the world over. To be fair there are several applications available to most professional scuba divers but none with the Ocean + social networking twist. There are plans for a Google Glass project, which the video below highlights. You can download the iOS application and the Android Application at their respective stores.
