This video may not help with your fear of sharks. This video footage is making the rounds on social media and in the news, showing a sand tiger shark munching on a smaller banded hound shark at at the Coex Aquarium in Seoul, South Korea.
You can see the tail of the smaller banded shark sticking out of the mouth of the tiger shark in the video below. To put size in context, the tiger shark is around 7.2 ft. long and the banded shark was 3.9 ft. long.
“Sharks have their own territory. However, sometimes when they bump against each other, they bite out of astonishment,” COEX aquarium PR manager Oh Tae-youp said in a statement. “I think the shark swallowed the whole body, because they usually eat it all when they bite the head part.”
