Today is National Pet Day and we want to know how you are planning on spending it with your saltwater friends. Although many consider traditional pets to be those with fur or feathers, fishkeeping and reefing are just as rewarding as taking your dog out for a run.
Although a full-on tank crash is sure to raise the blood pressure and stress levels, aquarium therapy is one of the incredible benefits of owning an aquarium. Nothing beats dimming the lights in the room, pulling up a chair and just getting lost in the aquarium.
There is no shortage of information about the therapeutic benefits aquariums provide people. From pediatric care to senior care and even Alzheimer’s care — aquariums have proven to be a valuable asset. Scientists have linked them to reduced stress level, lower blood pressure and even helping with things like insomnia.
So in honor of pet day, do an extra water change, break out the good food, go buy a new frag, snap some pictures of your fish and coral and share on social media, or just spend extra time in front of your tank celebrating your choice of pet.
