The 4th annual Mid-Atlantic Marine Aquarium Expo (MAMAX) is happening in Chesapeake, VA on October 8, 2016 from 10:00am-4:00pm. MAMAX is a charitable fundraising event for reef related causes with proceeds from the event donated to a charity selected by the attendees.
MAMAX is a one-day event with over 30 vendors and is a great opportunity for reef aquarists in the mid-atlantic region to come together for a day of saltwater hobby exposure. Attendees will also have the opportunity to attend talks by Marc Callahan, Laura Birenbaum, and MASNA 2016 aquarist of the year Joe Yaiullo.
General admission is just $8 online until 10/1/2016 and kids 12 and under are free. You can also purchase tickets at the door the day of for $10. Limited quantities of VIP tickets will be available as well! VIP tickets get you into the event

Also this years MAMAX raffle will feature great aquarium prizes with the chance to take home the Kessil A80 LED light before anyone else. This new LED is set for release in October/November so the winner will be one of the first to own this excited new light.
MAMAX is put on by the Mid-Atlantic Marine Aquarists Society (MAMAS) a 501c3 based in Virginia that supports the sustainability of the marine aquarium hobby and our oceans by organizing events across the mid-atlantic region that educate aquarists on aquaculture, alternative resources and emerging technology. MAMAX supports marine related charities all over the world. Each year fundraising efforts are donated to a single charity that is voted on by the expo’s attendees.
