Red Sea is set to release a new wider Reefer Peninsula aquarium series and new Reefer 625 aquarium next year, that is according to reports we have heard and intelligence we have collected. Red Sea International confirmed the news to Reef Builders.
The Reefer Deluxe 625 XL follows along the lines of other Reefer deluxe tanks: rimless, ultra-clear glass bundled with Aqua Illumination’s Hydra 26 HD LED lighting system. However, it might be noted the final specifications have not been set. We’re expecting total water volume to be around 625 liters or right around 165 US gallons. A large increase from the formally largest Reefer 525 XL (139 US gallons). Our editors in China spied concepts being shown off for feedback and the pictures are in line with our assumptions.
The new Reefer Peninsula is actually quite exciting, filling a void in the entire reefer line with the wider reef tanks – a sore spot among Reef Builders editors.
The Peninsula will come in two water volume sizes a 450-liter (116 gallons) with a 124 cm (48 inch) length and a larger 600 liter (158 gallon) with 164cm (64 inches) length. The overflow position has been moved to the side clearing up valuable space allowing it to be a room divider.
We expect not to see these in person until next year (January) as Red Sea likes to receive feedback to adjust for modifications and final production as the units pictured are rumored to be pre-production models shown off in China. If you were thinking about picking up a new reef tank during the holidays things got a whole lot more interesting.
