The Aqamai KPM water pump is the second and larger size in the range of controllable propeller pumps in Hydor’s high end brand. We have nothing but love for the Aqamai KPS water pump with its tiny size, ease of use, great flow pattern and most importantly, wireless connectivity and smart programming features.
The ‘M’ in KPM is the medium sized Aqamai pump in the line and it brings with it all the same great features of the KPS pump. Where the KPS is about the size of an egg or a plum, the KPM is about the size of a baseball, and should push considerably more water than its smaller predecessor. Where the KPS pump pushes up to 1,000 gallons of water flow per hour, we expect the KPM should easily do three times that, at least 2,500 gph, but to be honest we don’t recall and exact flow rate being stated in our discussion with the Hydor reps.
We do recall that the Aqamai KPM should retail in the neighborhood of $180 and since the main holdup in the development and release of the KPS was on the software side, since that part is done we shouldn’t have to wait too long for this larger affordable prop pump to hit the market.
