Thanks to the eagle eyed observers at Emoceans we’ve gotten ahold of the first picture of a yet unannounced new protein skimmer series from Royal Exclusiv. These small protein skimmers are about as small as we’d ever expect to see coming from the German hand-crafted aquarium product manufacturer but don’t call them nanos, call them ‘Micros’.
The new Micro Skimmers from Royal Exclusiv feature a radical departure from the design that they pioneered, and which has been copied ten thousand times around the world. The Royal Exclusiv Micro Skimmer have very tiny diameters down to just 100mm or just under four inches and feature a machined base in the style of the Royal Exclusiv Dreambox media reactors.
Surely the Red Dragon series of controllable DC pumps are much too large and powerful for these teeny-tiny Micro Skimmers and this is where Aquabee will fill in. Aquabee made the first needle wheel pump we ever used in a DAS skimmer and it’s only fitting that this German pump maker is being tapped to create perfect little needle wheel pumps for the Royal Exclusiv Bubble King Micro Skimmer.
Aquabee was tapped to make the last round of skimmers from Deltec, and they already make some very small and powerful needle wheel pumps for Cove, so it’s appropriate to see them collaborating with Royal Exclusiv. We hope the pumps powering the Royal Exclusiv Bubble King Micro Skimmers will be of the controllable DC variety but we’ll have to wait until 2018 when they are officially released to know for sure.
