Reef Pulse is a new complete coral food from Ocean Nutrition, one of the oldest makers of marine life diets. Rather than being aimed at any particular kind of coral, Reef Pulse includes a wide range of particle sizes to feed a variety of coral types.
Amusingly, Ocean Nutrition describes the ingredients as a ‘Luxury Blend’ of zooplankton and phytoplankton including copepods, krill, squid, yeast, artemia nauplii, marine eggs and microalgaes. The particle sizes are as small as 5 micrometers and as large as half a millimeter, with tons inside for the largest Scolymia to the smallest SPS coral polyps.
Reef Pulse is more than 50% protein which is the ideal the kind of food we should be feeding our aquarium corals. The samples we saw at CIPS in China were among the first off the assembly line so it’ll be a little while until Reef Pulse sees wider distributions to finer reef shops around the world.
