The VolxJapan Vesta Wave wavemaker is a DC-powered and controllable pump from the Japanese company that brought us the Grassy LeDio LED spotlights.
Available in three sizes, the Vesta Wave comes programmed with four waveform patterns to reproduce the swells and gyre flow we find on coral reefs. The pump comes with an external controller and advanced controls like feeding and night modes (with light sensor).
Keeping a small form factor while giving big wave output was key for VolxJapan who leverage a DC pump with a six-pole rotating coil to push out solid flow.
The Vesta Wave VW04 is the smallest of the pumps that can push 4,000 liters per hour at 15W of consumption. It has a pretty small footprint at 75 x 60 x 50mm and if you compare the size to output vs. other smaller wavemakers on the market, the Vesta Wave looks to definitely outperform.
The Vesta Wave VW08 pushes 8,000lph at 25W, measuring in at 98 × 75 × 60 mm. The largest is the VW13 that has a mighty 13,000lph output at 40W and measures 118 × 92 × 70 mm.
Suggested retail price for the VW04 is ¥13,824 (approx $130 USD), the VW08 runs ¥16,848 (about $150 USD) and the VW13 retails at ¥20,952 (around $192 USD).
