Cobalt Aquatics Total Reef is one of the company’s newest additions to its line of filter media products. The “total” package is aimed to remove organics, phosphates, nitrates, and silicates from reef systems. A big plus is the media is rechargeable.
Cobalt’s Total Reef is formulated for the reef tank and uses the Total Organics and Total Nitrate media to suck up all those organics, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate and metal removal. Total Reef is fine to use with the sensitive stony corals, clams and invertebrates we have in our reefs, taking out the bad stuff without impacting pH, calcium, magnesium or alkalinity.
The company also notes it can pull out the pollutants even at low concentrations, making it a good choice for Ultra Low Nutrient (ULN) systems.
As with some other filter media resins, Cobalt Total Reef can be regenerated multiple times. If its like other media, means soaking in bleach and neutralizing.
Cobalt Total Reef comes in 8 oz., 13.5 oz., 21.5 oz and 58 oz. that retail for $10.97, $14.97, $22.97 and $41.97 respectively.
